Here, I’ll talk about how I ended up not knowing that I was going on a date until it was too late, after I had come back from living in Germany for a year.
It’s funny how Europe often seems to be so similar to the U.S. on the surface, albeit with a literally different surface full of crazy old buildings and boring new ones, but the real differences, the real contrasts, are really in the small details.
Did you know that Bavarian is an actual language separate from German?! I had lived in Germany for over a year and traveled the country extensively and I didn’t even know it until I landed in a small town in Bavaria, south of Munich.
Now, let’s talk about the barbarian language of Germany… 🙂
Here is a series of photos from the Hohenschwangau Castle located in the town of Hohenschwangau in the south of Germany near the town of Fussen, Germany.  This is the castle that sits right next to the ‘Disneyland’ Castle and was the one that came first.  There are no photos of the inside (not allowed), but the exterior of the building is amazing.
This is a perfectly preserved building mainly because it is not actually that old and it was used up into the 1900’s. Â So, sit back, enjoy the photo gallery I put together for you, and get ready to plan your visit! Â (Disneyland Castle [Neuschwanstein Castle] photos will appear in another post).
Like most western European countries, Germany has a great rail transportation system. Â Though expensive (unless you are a student), traveling by train is convenient, safe, and comfortable.
