Now, I know that the U.S. is pretty much sterile compared to how life used to be and perhaps compared to the rest of the world, especially in terms of what most of us eat there, but never in my life did I expect to find bottles of blood being sold in a major supermarket in Finland.

Yes, that’s right, this blood was purchased, not in a specialty store or a butcher shop, but in a chain store the size of a jumbo Walmart!
I tell you, we in America are so far removed from the process of, well, processing our food that it is easy to forget that the meat we eat once had blood pumping through its veins and, better yet, that you can actually make food, and quite tasty food at that, out of this blood!
To be honest, I would have purchased the blood no matter what, because I find it so cool that you can actually do that, but I also put it to good use, cooking a local finish dish, making blood cakes for breakfast, and of course taking some awesome photos for Halloween. 🙂
